CORRECT OPERATION

The wheel bearings should firmly hold a wheel to its spindle. They allow a wheel to easily spin forward or backward without any wobble or sideways motion. The bearings should be tightened until they cause drag, then loosened just enough to let the wheel spin freely. If the bearings are too tight, they will generate excess friction and burn up. On the other hand, if they are too loose, they will wobble under load and break.
